Camp Rules and Regulations
Failure to comply with the following rules may result in dismissal from the program with no refund of tuition or fees.
Health Insurance & Medical Treatment
All camp participants must provide proof of health insurance before they can begin camp.
In the event of an emergency, campers will be taken to an appropriate health care facility such as Lawrence Memorial Hospital or the University of Kansas Watkins Health Center and the designated family member will be contacted as soon as possible.
Dress Code
Appropriate shoes and shirts must be worn in all campus facilities and during field trip experiences.
Students will do a considerable amount of walking, so comfortable shoes are recommended. Open-toed shoes are not allowed in the lab, so sandals and flip-flops are not appropriate.
Phones
All cell phones must be turned off during camp sessions and activities. No text messaging is permitted during camp sessions.
Personal Vehicles
Students who drive to camp must turn their keys over to the camp coordinators at check-in. Campers will not have access to the vehicles during the camp program.
Transportation
Campers may be taken to and from camp activities only in authorized vehicles. Skateboards, roller blades and other similar items are not allowed on the University of Kansas campus.
Drugs and Weapons
Campers will not consume, possess or knowingly be in the presence of anyone who consumes or possesses any type of alcoholic beverage, illegal drug or substance. Guns, knives and any instrument with potential use as a weapon are prohibited. Violators will be dismissed immediately without refund. The University of Kansas is a tobacco-free campus.
Physical Dangers
Causing or threatening physical harm to others is cause for immediate dismissal without refund. This includes pranks with potential harm.
Refunds
No refunds are available to campers who leave camp early for any reason. If an emergency arises, notify appropriate camp staff immediately.
